WHAT’S ON GUIDE: NOVEMBER

With life getting busier every week and new bars, restaurants and events opening every month, staying on top can be tricky. So here’s a round up of this month’s hottest happenings in and around the local area…

What? Hogwarts in the Snow
Where? Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter, Abbots Langley
When? Saturday November 17th 2018 - Sunday January 27th 2019
The Harry Potter studio tours get a festive makeover, with Christmas trees and a seasonal feast in the Great Hall, decorations in Gryffindor common room and snow drifts in Diagon Alley. The beautiful scale model of Hogwarts that was used for sweeping shots over the school will also be looking wintry, with snow and ice effects carefully applied by hand.
 
What? “Winter Wonderland Ball”
Where? Pendley Manor Hotel, Tring
When? Saturday 17th November 2018
A ‘black tie’ ball, hosted by the Chilterns MS Centre (and raising funds to provide ongoing care and support for people with Multiple Sclerosis). Entry is by ticket only and includes all entertainment, a three-course dinner and welcome drink – all for just £65 per person. It promises to be a magical evening.
 
What? Lord Mayor's Show and Fireworks
Where? Various London locations, London
When? Saturday November 10th 2018
When it comes to London’s traditional events, this is one of the biggies. The annual procession kicks off at 11am from Mansion House with cadets, carriages, floats and bands moving through the streets, while festival zones will see a funfair, archive film show, art installations and street theatre takeovers. There will also be spectacular fireworks displays taking place over the evening.
 
What? 100th Anniversary of the end of World War I
Where? Church of St Peter and St Paul, Tring, HP23 5AE
When? Sunday 11th November 2018 10am
This is a church service for the whole community of Tring to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the WW1. The service will be followed at 11am by a wreath-laying ceremony and commemoration at the War Memorial in Church Square. All are invited.
 
What? Fireworks night tickets
Where? Pixies Hill Primary School in Hemel Hempstead
When? Sunday 4th November 2018
After many years of success Pixie’s Hill School will be hosting their annual fireworks party on 4th  November, alike other years all proceeds go towards FRIENDS OF PIXIES HILL SCHOOL, the in school charity which funds additional events and sought after projects within the school. Come along for family fun with fireworks, hot and cold drinks, hot food, entertainment and more!
 
What? Social Fun and Games Club at Roof East

The Social Fun & Games Club at Roof East is sliding back in your lane this winter. This year, they're going big to celebrate their 25th birthday with a Curl Runnings theme complete with steel drum band and Jamaican-inspired cocktails. Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, it's curling time!
 
What? The Enchanted Woodland
Where? Syon Park, Brentford End
When? Friday November 9th 2018 - Sunday November 25th 2018
For its thirteenth year, Syon Park's Enchanted Woodland will see the 600-year-old gardens transformed by a light display, with its Great Conservatory completely illuminated in the centre of the historic arboretum. The glittering trail can be completed in half an hour by those with a brisk pace, but better to allow longer for taking photos, admiring the installations and playing with the interactive lights along the way.
 
What? Christmas markets
Where? Cassiobury Junior School in Watford
When? Sunday 25th November 2018, 11:00am til 4:00pm
A fantastic day out for the family. Come visit us for a truly magical Christmas experience. There will be Santa’s grottos, a real Santa’s sleigh to ride on, funfair with rides and bungee trampolines, games stalls to try win prizes, over 20 market stalls to find the perfect Christmas gift, food from around the world, mulled wine and chestnuts, music and live entertainment and of course, a bar.
